Industrial Revolution Quiz
An industrial revolution quiz in 7 questions: steam, locomotives, the telegraph, and the centuries they changed. Both authors of the underlying dataset had to agree before any question made the cut.
What the seven questions take on
Steam power, the locomotive, the telegraph — and the centuries those machines rearranged. This set of 7 questions treats the industrial revolution as a chain of working inventions rather than a single date, asking where the machinery came from, when it arrived, and what it displaced. The scope runs across the long stretch in which workshops became factories and distance stopped being the obstacle it had always been.
Answers written twice on purpose
Behind every question sits a dataset produced twice over. Two authors, working independently, each wrote the full record — 149 catalog facts and a complete list of all 47 US presidencies — and the two versions were then checked against each other key by key. All 149 facts verified; all 47 presidency records agreed on every field. Entries the authors could not match were discarded before question generation, so nothing in this quiz rests on a single unchecked claim. The industrial-era material passed through exactly the same gate.
