Eighteen questions across continents
This quiz takes the long way around: 18 questions that run from the Great Wall to Mandela, and from Columbus to Indian independence. Construction, exploration, empire, and independence — the coverage deliberately refuses to stay on one continent or in one era. As everywhere on this site, the questions ask only settled history: events whose record stopped moving long ago. The dates and names the quiz wants from you are written nowhere on this page, so nothing here shortens the distance between you and a clean score.
Two authors behind every answer
The answers were not collected once. Two authors compiled the same dataset independently of each other — a catalog of 149 historical facts, verified 149 for 149 when the two versions were compared key by key — and only records that matched became questions. Where the authors could not agree, the record was set aside and no question was generated from it. That is the standing rule across the site, and this quiz inherits all of it: every one of the 18 answers was written twice before it was asked once.
