Renaissance Quiz
This Renaissance quiz puts seven questions on Florence, the masters, and the printing press. Play it in the page; your best score stays in your browser.
Seven questions on the era
The Renaissance quiz stays with the era’s center of gravity: Florence, the masters who worked there and beyond, and the printing press. Seven questions, each with a single verified answer, none hanging on interpretation or taste.
Art history invites argument; this quiz avoids it. What gets asked is the kind of thing two careful compilers can agree on exactly — which is, as it happens, the site’s standard for every question it publishes.
Why the answers hold up
The dataset behind Hindsight was written twice, by two authors working independently of each other, then compared key by key. All 149 of its catalog facts matched — 149 out of 149 — before any question was generated from them. Where the authors’ versions differed, the disputed entry produced no question at all.
The trade-off is size: the bank is only as large as the verified dataset allows, and the site treats that as a feature rather than a limit.
The mechanics
Four options per question, answered right in the page. The moment you pick, you learn whether you were right, and the correct answer is shown either way. Finish the seventh question and you get a review of the full set; your best score is stored in your browser, waiting for your next attempt. The saved score gives a second run something to aim at. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to download.
