1970s Quiz

Seven questions on the decade — Watergate, the end of Vietnam, Apollo 13 — playable in the page with instant feedback. This 1970s quiz sticks to the settled record.

Seven questions on the decade

The 1970s quiz keeps to three of the decade’s defining stories: Watergate, the end of the war in Vietnam, and Apollo 13. Seven questions in all — enough to move through politics, war, and spaceflight without wandering into pop culture.

Everything asked is settled history. Nothing in the set depends on anniversaries, rankings, or anything else that shifts with the news, and nothing was included that the record leaves open.

Verified before it was asked

Every answer traces to a dataset built twice over: two independent authors wrote the same records without seeing each other’s work, and the versions were then compared key by key. Of the 149 catalog facts behind the site’s quizzes, all 149 checked out. Where the two authors disagreed, that question was never written — the site would rather ask less than guess.

That policy is the entire editorial line: a smaller bank of questions, each one cross-checked before it reached the page.

What happens when you play

The quiz runs in the page itself. Each of the seven questions shows four options; the moment you choose, you see whether you were right, and the correct answer appears either way. At the end there is a review of the whole set, and your best score is stored in your browser, waiting when you come back. No signup, no download, no app.
