Great Depression Quiz
This Great Depression quiz asks 6 questions about the 1929 crash, the Dust Bowl, and the New Deal. None of its answers come from a single source — each was written twice and compared before use.
What the six questions ask about
Three anchors hold this set together: the crash of 1929, the Dust Bowl, and the New Deal. One is about markets, one about land and weather, one about government — and between them they frame the decade the quiz works through. The 6 questions move among those three subjects, asking about the events, years, and figures attached to each, and they stay inside that frame rather than wandering into the war that came after.
How the answers were checked
Hindsight does not trust a single draft. The dataset behind every quiz on the site was written twice, by two authors working independently, then compared entry by entry: 149 catalog facts, all 149 verified against each other, plus a complete record of all 47 US presidencies in which both versions agreed on every field. Any point the two authors could not settle identically was dropped, and no question is ever asked about it. The Depression-era questions here come only from entries that survived that comparison.
The format
Four options per question, and the verdict arrives the moment you pick one — right or wrong, with the correct choice shown either way. After the sixth question the page lays out a full review of your run, question by question. Your best score is kept in your browser, so a later attempt always has a number to beat.
